Nothing sells at a flat rate. The same case is one price on the list, another to a tier account, and another again under a contract — with freight rules, tax exemptions and terms per account on top.
Every edition is built around one refusal like this, enforced by the way the till is put together rather than by a warning somebody dismisses forty times a shift.
What this register refuses to do
No order confirms except against an account profile, at that account’s contracted prices and terms. There is no anonymous checkout and no hand-keyed price: a negotiated exception is a contract entry with an author and dates, not a keystroke.
What it tells you
The forward pipeline on two rails — the money rail and the dock rail — plus real receivables ageing.
